The NAVi-PAL is a phone-camera pouch system created especially for:
- Blind-navigation Smartphone App users (Like Goodmaps, Aira, Be My Eyes, etc.)
- Smartphone Bodycam - Content Creators - Travel, sports, daily life
- People with Disabilities who want secure, hands-free phone storage
- Phone Case for Student or Business, extra pockets for cards, cash, air tag.
-
Protect Phone from Theft, Weather and Damage:
- Double-zipper rings are lockable (lock not included).
- Water-resistant Ballistic Nylon.
KEY FEATURES:
- A small window on the front for the rear-facing camera (that will be used facing outward) -- Open cut-out square window: 1.5 inch / 4 cm. Prevents overheating and no plastic to block the camera's focus.
- The inside of the NAVi-Pal features a moveable phone holster that uses non-slip Armortex and ultra fine velcro to secure any sized phone in its desired position within the zippered pouch so that the main camera faces out of the window.
- Removable and adjustable waist strap keeps the pouch secure and centered on the body. Wide neck strap is also adjustable and clips on/off easily.
HOW TO USE*: (audio instructions here)
1. Secure phone into holster, and place in pouch, aligning camera with small window.
2. Adjust neck and waist straps to secure unit on body at desired position.
* 3 Helpful TIPS:
- LINING UP THE CAMERA to the window, place the camera up against the inside of the window before securing the holster to the back velcro panel. Once the camera is lined up, press the back of the pouch up against the holster to secure it in the right place.
- TAKING OUT THE PHONE - Once the holster is correctly aligned, you can remove and put back the phone into the holster without needing to remove the holster itself. You may adjust the tightness of the holster to suit your preference.
- LANDSCAPE MODE - If you require the phone camera to be in landscape mode, you may simply rotate the entire pouch 90 degrees to the right by re-attaching the neck and waist straps accordingly.

When I received the Navipal, I had high expectations. I thought I would finally be able to use ChatGPT or Be My Eyes more easily without constantly having to hold my iPhone upright—Navipal would take care of that. Or even better: I could record routes independently using the Clew app and follow them without having to hold my phone in my hand.
But when I got the Navipal, I immediately found it very difficult to assemble on my own as a blind person. The sighted person who helped me—someone quite handy—still needed almost half an hour to put it together. The material it’s made of, especially the clips, seems very fragile to me.
It’s frustrating that I can’t operate my iPhone while it’s in the Navipal. Couldn’t the screen have been left accessible? I can’t set my screen lock to infinity, can I? And how am I supposed to activate Face ID when my iPhone is inside the Navipal? You also can’t just take the phone out or put it back in easily.
On top of that, I found the Navipal hung too low to film properly. I wonder if any blind people were actually involved in the development—if they were, they surely would have pointed this out.
In short, a disappointment. I had ordered three Navipals—also for two friends—but we returned them and hope to get our money back. A simple harness you can clip your phone into and wear around your neck seems far more practical to me. By the way: I donkt know which rating I have chosen on the website, it's not accessible. But the rating is bad, unfortunately.
